NMAHP Research Training (Scotland)
Consortium has developed this site for Postdoctoral candidates
who are interested in applying for this single fellowship
which commence in January 2007. This scheme is funded by NHS
Education for Scotland, The Scottish Executive Health Department
and The Health Foundation.
This training scheme will provide
the highest possible quality of experience for the successful
Postdoctoral research fellows. By developing leadership in
research within fellows and retaining them within NMAHP practice,
they will have research as a key component of their activity
while staying in clinical practice. This scheme, together
with other NMAHP initiatives involving our Consortium, will
provide Scotland with its next generation of principal investigators,
strengthen existing research collaborations, develop new ones
and allow focused research in NMAHP to develop rapidly over
the next five years.
This Consortium includes the
most progressive Departments of Nursing and Midwifery in Scotland
(in Dundee, Stirling, Aberdeen and RGU) with established systematic
programmes of research and includes the emerging Department
of Health Sciences (Allied Health Professionals) in The Robert
Gordon University.
The combined expertise offered
by the Universities of Dundee, St Andrews, Stirling, Aberdeen
and Robert Gordon will allow PhD students and Postdoctoral
fellows to access leaders in the fields of Nursing, Midwifery
and Allied Health Professions research. Fellows will have
the opportunity to benefit from the theoretical and methodological
input of experts from supporting departments. Supporting departments
include:
